We begin our morning session with a register when the children learn to recognise their own name, days of the week, dates and the weather. We have a fruit snack at about 10.30am where the children pour their own drink and choose from a selection of chopped fruit. We usually go out for a walk round the village or to the park or allotment garden. We provide wellies and waterproofs but children will need their own coats, gloves & hats in cold weather.
We use a Walkodile so the children are perfectly safe crossing roads and walking through village. We offer a large range of activities at pre-school, both inside and in the well equipped outdoor area and the children choose what to do.

The morning session ends at 12 o’clock so please collect your child promptly if they are not staying for lunch. Lunch club is from 12-1pm where children and staff sit around a large table to eat their packed lunches and chat. Lunch usually takes about 45 minutes and then the children have a story or sing some songs before they are collected at 1pm.
Children staying for the afternoon session will then be involved in different afternoon activities. We often split the group with older children doing more taxing activities and younger ones involved in social communication activities ie. games to encourage sharing and turn taking.
AT THE END OF THE DAY
Each child takes home a letter pack to help with their literacy and recognition of one letter of the alphabet. They also go home with amazing story bags, that have a book and props to bring the story to life at home.
